Thirty Fourth Question of the Day.

Today is a good day.  The day before a holiday, the whole school smiling with growling stomachs for the feast.  What a relief, to make it this far into the year so quickly.

What is your take on Thanksgiving?

  1. 3 days off from school!
Seriously, that is all Thanksgiving means to me. I mean, I am thankful every day of my life, so I don’t see the need to have a day. Plus, like Black History Month, is it really enough or even worth it to have one day dedicated to giving thanks or one month dedicated to Black History. As great as those first sound, it also implies (or maybe I’m inferring too much) that we only have to spend one day giving thanks and the rest not caring or one month celebrating Black History and not caring the next 11 months. While these are important, I think they are important enough that they should either be celebrated all the time, or not necessarily celebrated for a short period of time every year. Thanksgiving every day (not a holiday, but just the idea of it) or Black History Month every month, with maybe not quite as much emphasis because too much of any thing, even a good thing, is too much.

    I wonder….
will you feel the same way when the year’s over, and you think what made the year go by so quickly?
In my limited experience, time flying has a lot to do with good times…
    Savor what you can. 😉

  3. Savoring is what we do, appreciating each day as fully as possible.

    Thanks for the reminder!
