That is an actual screenshot from the upcoming NBA Jam video game. After watching Chris Bosh in person for the first game of the best team in basketball history last night in downtown Miami, I didn’t think hoops could get any sweeter.
I was wrong.
Soon President Obama will be dunking nasty in Sarah Palin’s face!
Oh man, and I thought Marvel vs. Capcom 3 had my juices flowing. Now this? Yikes. I will leave you with a quote from Trey Smith of EA Sports. Very exciting times.
Sarah Palin is hilarious in the game. She has a beehive haircut and a helicopter dunk that is just awesome. She also makes some pretty funny faces in the photos. It’s just good, clean fun. We even made logos for the Republicans and Democrats, where the donkey is this bad-ass donkey with a Mohawk, and the Republicans have this cool elephant. In the beginning, we were just trying to be true to “Jam,” but on the flip side, it’s really cool to put this in there. Ever since we announced this game, people wanted Bill Clinton to be back. They knew that Obama was a baller, so they wanted him in the game. It’s just this perfect storm for us and we couldn’t be happier to include all of these characters in the game.
As always, I am using trading cards to illustrate my bliss. Today the joy is spinning like a Playstation disc inside my brain. We are a bit closer to the confirmation of Squirrel Girl in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and rumor has Mysterio swimming into the line-up alongside her.
There is a “leaked list” of the characters that will be included in the game. If this were accurate, all our dreams would come true simultaneously. Here is the Marvel roster that has been mentioned:
- Dr. Doom
- Iron Fist
- Iron Man
- Captain America
- Squirrel Girl
- Misty Knight
- Silver Samurai
Like all things that seem too good, this one began to taste bad right away. As soon as we started to celebrate, our hopes were slightly dashed. In Tokyo this morning, Capcom revealed two intense official truths. First, we will be fighting with X-23 as a playable character. Second, there will be a simple mode for noobish button smashers everywhere.
The sigh of relief we felt in knowing that the special moves will be easy to bust was instantly tempered by the fact that X-23 is not on the “leaked list”. Does that mean Squirrel Girl and Mysterio are out? Of course not. It could still be possible. The waiting continues, but at least we have leather jeans and female claws to groove on while we wait.
Today we have old school screenshots of a brand new thang. If you unlock the special costumes in the Marvel Super Hero Squad video game you get Juggernaut in a Loki Suit.
That is seriously wicked twisted stuff. It would have never happened in the comic books, not in a million years.
It has been exactly one month since that fateful day. It was revealed that Amaterasu, the brilliant she-wolf from Okami, will be a featured playable character in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. For those of you that don’t speak Playstationese, this is a very very very good thing.
In honor of one of the top three video game characters ever created, we present the best Okami artwork from the deviant art contest last year, for your eyepopping pleasure. Enjoy.
That amazing take on our hero was drawn by Katie Cook. What would Squirrel Girl look like in the Super Hero Squad? Will she ever be included in a video game? Soon, we will answer two questions with one stone!
Yes, it is true. Squirrel Girl will be available as a playable character in Super Hero Squad Online.

Wow. On the day that Activision announced the inclusion of Jean Grey and Gambit in the upcoming Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 video game, they also released screenshots of the most amazing looking Iron Fist and Deadpool that a joystick has ever controlled.
Certain things fill me with such exquisite bliss that I cannot help but burst with gratitude for the chance to be a human being.
Okami is one of those things.
Widely regarded as the greatest single video game ever created for the Playstation 2, this incomparable Capcom masterpiece also inspired a deviant art contest last year.
Expect much more Okami on these pages in the coming weeks. For now I leave you with my favorite fan-based interpretations. Bloom the world around you.
